Former Physician Charged with Assault Charges Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have stated that a former doctor stands accused of performing assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients.
The Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault – including acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
One senior prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
The charges come after what investigators called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
List of Offences
The charging documents outline the 45 charges he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
