Per new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, now completing a 20-year prison term for trafficking offenses, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for review by the presidential administration.

Preferential Handling Alleged at Federal Prison

House Democrats on the House judiciary committee revealed that a source provided information indicating the inmate is preparing the commutation application. Additionally, they mentioned she has been given preferential conditions at the minimum-security facility in the Lone Star State.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the committee, declared in a official statement that the facility's chief was “helping” the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to aid her effort for executive mercy.

The exact content of the clemency request remain unknown, the congressman noted.

Claimed Perks and Special Accommodations

Raskin states that, according to the whistleblower, the prisoner has been given specially prepared food that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the warden has “personally arranged” exclusive visits for Maxwell and her guests.

The visits reportedly involve a “special cordoned-off area” for attendees and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her guests.

Maxwell’s visitors were also reportedly permitted to carry electronic devices, which the congressman characterized as an exceptional measure given the potential danger and potential for unmonitored communications.

In one alleged instance, when phone lines went down for other prisoners, she was given specific instructions about instructing her associates to contact and how staff would relay the call to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The source also allegedly told congressional members that when Maxwell wanted to examine and modify papers “quickly”, she reportedly employed the official as her private aide.

The statement states that Maxwell’s correspondents would send files directly to the supervisor, who would hand them over to the inmate, who would review and edit them and provide them back to the warden to digitize and send to the original sender.

Extra Benefits Reported

Other privileges allegedly granted to Maxwell include time to “play with” a trainee assistance dog – a benefit not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney has not yet replied to a inquiry regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

In a statement, the White House said that it “does not comment” on possible pardon appeals.

“As President Trump has stated, pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the representative added.

Recent Background

Recently, it was reported that Maxwell told friends and family in emails from prison that she was more content at the Texas facility than her previous prison.

In August, she was moved from a secure facility in Florida's capital to the less restrictive prison in the state, where most detainees are serving time for financial and non-violent crimes.

The transfer, which authorities called as exceptional, occurred just days after she was questioned about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the deputy attorney general, the official, who also once acted as the President's personal lawyer.

This questioning came as the administration was facing increasing scrutiny to disclose additional files related to the ongoing probe and amid widespread conjecture around the President's own personal ties to the fallen billionaire and adjudicated criminal, who was found dead in a New York jail in 2019 while facing trial on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, the congressman also announced that he had dispatched a communication to Trump, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and urged the president to reject the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any form of clemency to this convicted and unrepentant sex offender,” Raskin wrote in the letter. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with puppies to play with, with federal law enforcement officials waiting on her every need, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

Raskin requested that the official appear for a public congressional hearing to discuss the revelations and also posed three questions to the President.

He inquired whether Trump had discussed a potential commutation for Maxwell with the official or others, whether he had directed him or anyone else to provide Maxwell with the move or special conditions in detention, and whether she, her attorneys, family or representatives have made any commitments to the President or his attorneys.
