Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes across the region in response for a large-scale and ongoing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area in the area of the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any destruction is unclear and the US has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.

In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted locations associated with the the regime, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.

Additional Developments

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a series of missiles," the statement continued.

Officials reported debris landed in a residential area in the capital, causing some structural damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
