Following a week of significant rainfall that resulted in floodwaters across parts of the city, Los Angeles is now grappling with unusually warm temperatures for this time of year.

On Friday midday, the temperature soared to ninety-one degrees Fahrenheit in the city center, according to weather officials. This easily surpasses the prior high for this date, which was eighty-eight degrees Fahrenheit and was recorded in the previous year.
"Unusually high temperatures" were labeled on official maps for the region.

Forecasters stated that Friday's heat posed an "higher threat for heat illness" for people sensitive to heat. Their guidance featured:

- Limiting outdoor activities during the afternoon hours of the day.

Additional areas that reached 90°F included Woodland Hills, Long Beach, and Burbank. Additionally, Oxnard, Westwood, Camarillo, and Santa Maria were projected to experience the high eighties.
Over Saturday and Sunday, downtown Los Angeles can expect temperatures in the eighties, with cooler weather likely for the week ahead.
