English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.

The three finalists have been honoured for their remarkable achievements over the last year.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a unprecedented innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The three contenders were revealed during a live broadcast on a national radio breakfast show.

This year's winner will be unveiled on the Sports Personality of the Year show on December 18th.

The show will be broadcast from 19:00 GMT.

Age: 19 Sport: Football

A mere three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She was introduced as a substitute to score crucial late equalisers in both the knockout stage games.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the best young player in Europe.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"To be named a finalist for this honour is incredible," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler's 2025 began in spectacular fashion as - while still 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

And he wasn't finished there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the maiden occasion.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, shattering the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a big honour," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a highlight for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

Perrin's Profile

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and burst into the spotlight with an remarkable and historic innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.

Perrin ended up as runner-up in the batting rankings and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm deeply humbled to be nominated for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it motivates more girls to get into cricket."
